Have you looked recently into a kaleidoscope and as you marvel at the beautiful colours and patterns, wondered, did a Scotsman invent this? Yah, me neither, but the answer is yes, actually, Sir David Brewster of Edinburgh did create the first one, made of a cylinder featuring coloured glass reflected of a set of mirrors. What other trippy things did the Scot invent?
