Golf… such a boring sport (sorry, Dad!) but yes, the Scots invented it. Whacking a ball around on the ground was so much fun, apparently, that it was too much of a distraction from learning important other things, like archery, which comes in handy when defeating enemy armies in the 1400s. We Scots, however, do not take credit for the ugly golf clothes people wear nowadays. Maybe it was the English or Irish, though.
